Join us in our Coming Home Initiative

I am thrilled to share that beginning in 2023, my team and I will update and furnish a 5-unit family shelter in Gloucester, MA run by Wellspring House.

As a person who earns her living creating homes for people, design is the best gift I can give. The facility, part of the statewide shelter system, is badly in need of updates. It provides safe and free housing for parents and children while they search for long term solutions and pursue job training and education with Wellspring’s help. From appliances and flooring to furniture and bedding, we won’t leave one surface untouched!

Last year, 20 households with 35 adults and children lived in Wellspring property and the need for shelter is only growing with the effects of the struggling economy. In 2022, 837 parents called Wellspring’s Homelessness Prevention Line to avoid the crises of becoming unhoused. Of these 75 families who participated in Wellspring’s homelessness prevention programs for a year or more, 100% remained stably housed for 12+ months. By providing a thoughtfully designed space early in a family’s search for housing stability, I believe strongly that the positive impact will carry over as they transition out of homelessness.
